These are my favorite quotes from the 4-hour workweek:

“People will choose unhappiness over uncertainty.”

“The question you should be asking isn’t, “What do I want?” or “What are my goals?” but “What would excite me?”

“It’s lonely at the top. Ninety-nine percent of people in the world are convinced they are incapable of achieving great things, so they aim for the mediocre. The level of competition is thus fiercest for ‘realistic’ goals, paradoxically making them the most time and energy-consuming.”

“Money doesn’t change you; it reveals who you are when you no longer have to be nice”

“I’ll repeat something you might consider tattooing on your forehead: What we fear doing most is usually what we most need to do.”

“Someday” is a disease that will take your dreams to the grave with you. Pro and con lists are just as bad. If it’s important to you and you want to do it “eventually,” just do it and correct course along the way.”

“Usually, what we most fear doing is what we most need to do. That phone call, that conversation, whatever the action might be—it is fear of unknown outcomes that prevents us from doing what we need to do. Define the worst case, accept it, and do it. I’ll repeat something you might consider tattooing on your forehead: What we fear doing most is usually what we most need to do. As I have heard said, a person’s success in life can usually be measured by the number of uncomfortable conversations he or she is willing to have.”

“Most people are fast to stop you before you get started but hesitant to get in the way if you’re moving.”

See you soon ❤

  1. “I’m busy, leave me alone!” That’s what I say to my kids when I’m busy doing the little works at home.
“Mama, can we read a book together?” That’s another busy, because it’s productive and with love. I love more that “busy”, that time is more importent!

  2. The quote the really resonated with me was” What we fear doing most is usually what we need to do” I literally stopped at this quote and thought about all the things I’ve been putting off because I’m scared. I plan on completing some of them TODAY!

  3. The way you behave when you are a middle-class person and then when you’ve almost everything shows who you are actually. I love the quote “Money doesn’t change you; it reveals who you are when you no longer have to be nice”.

  5. It’s interesting and certainly worth thinking about – but I think that humans and life itself are far more complex, situations and circumstances can be totally different so that it’s not possible to wrap it up in a catch phrase; sometimes I wish it was that easy 😉
